AI Opportunity Assessment

Identify where AI can create practical value before committing to implementation.

An engineering-led review of your processes, information, systems and constraints. It ends in an AI Opportunity & Implementation Report: what is worth doing, what is feasible, what it would involve and in what order. For Australian organisations that see potential in AI but have not yet defined a project.

Starting price
From A$4,500 + GST

Fit

Who the assessment is for.

It is designed for the point before a project exists, when the question is still whether and where AI is worth applying.

A good starting point when

  • You believe AI could help, but have not defined a project.
  • Several teams have ideas, and you need to decide which, if any, to pursue first.
  • You have been offered AI products and want an engineering view of fit before committing.
  • Leadership wants a grounded plan with scope, dependencies and risk rather than a general briefing on AI.
  • Privacy, security or deployment requirements need to be identified before anything is built.

Probably not the right starting point when

  • You already know the process to automate. An Automation Pilot may be more direct.
  • You need awareness sessions or staff training on AI tools.
  • You want a product recommendation without examining the work, the information or the systems.
  • You need legal advice or a compliance certification. The assessment documents information your advisers can use; it is not legal advice.

Approach

An analytical deliverable, not a workshop.

Interviews and working sessions are how information is gathered. The product is the analysis.

KyperX examines how the work is actually performed, the condition and accessibility of the information involved, and the systems any solution would have to connect to. Each candidate opportunity is tested for feasibility, and compared with alternatives before AI is recommended.

The assessment is not a disguised software sale. It can conclude that conventional software, a rules-based automation or a change to the process is a better answer than AI, and when it does, the report says so.

What is examined

01

Process and constraints

Who performs the work, how often, how long it takes, where it varies, and what currently limits it.

02

Information and data suitability

Where the information lives, its format and condition, whether enough of it exists, and who is permitted to see it.

03

Existing systems and APIs

The systems involved, whether they expose usable interfaces or reliable export paths, and what access would be needed.

04

AI suitability and alternatives

Whether the step genuinely needs interpretation, or whether conventional software or rules would do the job more reliably.

05

Integration requirements

Where outputs must go, what they must trigger, and what has to be checked at each handoff.

06

Human oversight

Which decisions must stay with people, where review is required, and what the review load would be.

07

Privacy, security and deployment

Where information would travel, what would be retained and by whom, and which deployment positions are viable.

08

Complexity, risk and dependencies

What would make implementation hard, what could fail, and what must be in place first.

Deliverable

The AI Opportunity & Implementation Report.

A written report you can use to make a decision, brief stakeholders and scope follow-on work, whoever carries it out.

Contents of the AI Opportunity & Implementation Report
SectionWhat it contains
Current-state assessmentHow the work in scope is performed today, the information and systems involved, and the constraints observed.
AI opportunity mapCandidate opportunities identified across the area assessed, including those where AI is not the right tool.
PrioritisationEach opportunity compared by potential operational value, feasibility, complexity, risk and control, and scalability.
Technical feasibilityWhether the information, systems and required accuracy support each opportunity, and what would need to change.
Indicative architectureA high-level design for priority opportunities, where enough is known to make one useful.
Data, system and integration requirementsWhat access, interfaces, data preparation and integration each priority opportunity would need.
Risks and constraintsPrivacy, security, deployment and operational constraints, with the dependencies they create.
Implementation roadmapA recommended sequence, starting with the opportunity best suited to a bounded first step.
Indicative scope and budgetThe likely shape of follow-on work and, where enough is known, an indicative budget range. Indicative figures are not a quotation.

Process

How the assessment runs.

Typically one to two weeks, depending on the agreed scope, stakeholder availability and technical complexity.

  1. 01

    Scope agreement

The area under review, stakeholders, inputs, deliverable, timeframe and fee, agreed in writing.

    Output: written scope

  2. 02

    Discovery

Interviews and working sessions with the people who run the work; review of sample documents, data and system information.

    Output: current-state record

  3. 03

    Analysis

Feasibility, alternatives, integration, risk and deployment analysis for each candidate opportunity.

    Output: prioritised opportunities

  4. 04

    Report

The AI Opportunity & Implementation Report, with the roadmap and indicative scope.

    Output: written report

  5. 05

    Review session

We walk through the findings and answer questions. You decide what, if anything, happens next.

    Output: your decision

Scope and price

What the starting price covers.

The assessment starts from A$4,500 + GST. Not every assessment is available at the starting price: the fee reflects the agreed scope and is confirmed before work begins.

Typically within the starting price

  • A defined business area, or a short list of candidate workflows.
  • A limited number of interviews or working sessions, agreed in the scope.
  • Review of representative samples of documents, data and system information.
  • The written report and a review session.

Scoped and quoted separately

  • Organisation-wide or multi-department assessments.
  • Extended stakeholder programmes or multiple sites.
  • Prototypes, proofs of concept or data engineering.
  • Formal security, privacy or legal assessments.
  • Implementation work of any kind.

Not sure whether an assessment is worthwhile?

Describe the area you have in mind. If a smaller step or a different engagement would serve you better, we will say so.

Afterwards

No commitment to implementation.

The assessment is a complete engagement on its own. What happens next is a separate decision.

You can act on the report with KyperX, with another provider or with your own team. If you would like KyperX to carry out recommended work, it is scoped and quoted separately.

Questions

Questions about the assessment.

What organisations ask before requesting one.

What do you need from us?

Access to the people who run the work in scope, representative samples of the documents or data involved, information about the systems concerned, and a sponsor who can confirm scope and receive the findings.

Will you always recommend AI?

No. Each opportunity is compared with alternatives. Where conventional software, rules-based automation or a process change is the better answer, the report recommends it.

Can the assessment cover privacy and data residency?

Yes, as engineering input. It records where information would travel, what would be retained and by whom, and which deployment positions would remove a given exposure. It is not legal advice and does not certify compliance.

How is the fee set?

From the agreed scope: the area covered, the number of stakeholders and sessions, and the technical complexity of the systems involved. The fee and timeframe are confirmed in writing before the assessment begins.

How is our information handled?

How information will be shared, stored and returned or deleted is agreed before discovery begins. Please do not send confidential documents with a first enquiry.

Enquiry

Request an AI Opportunity Assessment.

Tell us which part of the organisation you would like assessed and what prompted the question. We will confirm whether an assessment is worthwhile and propose a scope and fee.

What happens next

  1. We review your enquiry. We read what you have described and check whether it is work KyperX can usefully do.
  2. We reply by email. Usually with a few questions, or a suggested time for a short conversation where there appears to be a fit.
  3. Scope is confirmed in writing. If an engagement is appropriate, you receive a written scope and fee before any work begins. There is no commitment until then.
